New Torch Red ZR1 in Georgia

Hello all! Thanks to the mods for getting my account validated and hope to get myself some RADAR and laser protection in the near future. I haven't been issued a good driving certificate since 1997 and I'd like to keep it that way but the new car is a beast and GA has some pretty good equipment. I'm pretty sure I read elsewhere on this site that GA has Dragoneye and that a C7 corvette sits too low for the TX in the front. Not certain if GA police tactics include lasing from the rear, hopefully somebody here knows. Was the information I read still correct and current, and if so is there a way to protect my wallet from the state's supplemental revenue generation program?

GA is the most active DragonEye state since Dragon Eye Tech is actually headquartered in GA. On a Corvette with the low front end a 3 Regular Sensor system will work in the front and if you want rear protection a TX can be used in the rear.

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

Thanks. I know the TX setup is ideal, without the TX in front what am I losing compared to the preferred setup?

You lose some off axis coverage and shorten the overpass capability since regular sensors only have horizontal transmitters. With being too close to the ground you cant have a vertical transmitter because the pulses are too close to the ground and will bounce back and cause reflections from the ground causing interference.

The car is an everything magnet. Today some guy in a rusty S10 started tailgating me, then he moved along side and was driving erratically. I finally looked over at him and he's hanging out his window and filming my car with his phone. I also managed to get stuck behind THAT GUY with the unsecured load of get this -- 2 x 4s with nails sticking out of them. Yes, one flew out and yes I ran it over with a mighty clunk. Fortunately I was able to get the driver to pull over and we couldn't find any damage on my car but I have his LP # and phone # just in case. So yeah, the car seems to attract pretty much everything.

Anyway, tangent aside thanks for your reply on my intro thread, I lurked a while and saw you helped a lot of people testing their gear -- are you still helping out on that front? I already bought a Uniden R7 and I intend to get an ALP jammer in the future, probably in under a year. Right now too many other expenses associated with the new car so I'm going to have to be careful in the meantime.
