Very nice and clean !!
Yes I would agree a four year life expectancy may prove acceptable but what we also do not know is how long the unit has been leaking...it appears moisture has been present for a fairly long...
KPMH...already sent a note...no reply yet
Sure..I take it though touchless washes and have a Karcher that I use with foam canon at home..but also avoid direct intense spray at the sensors..I understand they are somewhat vulnerable but they...
No bracket..double sided tape along top plane

Okay to here is the results..it's clear the weather sealing failed..
This is a 4 year in service rear mounted sensor..that from the appearance depicts moisture infiltrating through the lower...
I think this failure was caused by water from a recent car wash I did...I recall concentrating the spray from the want in that area...soon I will rear the sensor apart and have a look inside
It alerted the one time it was first noticed not present by the CPU then never again. I had to test to find it was toast
You could miss the fail warning and never know a sensor was gone..at least...
Okay good to know thanks
Ripped it apart...bad rear sensor..luckily I had one..replaced it and all good..also lucky I had spare plastic push pin panel anchors as they always break..I could pull that panel now in 10...
Last year I had a rear (of two) sensor fail..chased my tail for some time until I finally determined the issue..which turned out to be a failed extension cable...between sensor cable and cpu input...
Fingers crossed Ive solved the puzzle...failed extension wire...don't know how or why...dry solid connections inside vehicle...control box plug end and din plug connector with shield casing..
...
Ugh I understand now..and yes..I have 3 ALP systems active..and no i did not get that alert identified..
If you run with control box what type of code alert do you get ? TIA
Hmmm..doesn't sound like it but I thank-you for this..it's so odd because it only does it some of the time..gotta do more trouble shooting
Dayum...I think this whole episode may be battery/power level related...do you know what the alert is from the control unit ?
Question..what is the alert if the power level is deficient or inadequate...does the control box alert to this ?...
May have a revelation..First I removed the BT ver:1 module that I never really used...then I did a complete reconfigure removing all sensors and re-inserting each in their home location one at a time...
I'm going to try this..
plug the rear two into the front two (omit center front sensor for now)
plug the front two outer into the rear ports
I'll really be stymied if this set up works okay :)
Firstly this cct has a new sensor installed and still appears to fault..
regardless..yes to pressure washer...yes to laser tester and no to laser gun..
Yes it's connected to an extension cable..I put a new sensor on this cable and this cable appears (have not tested) to work properly when plugged into a front socket
Well if appears the issue is still active..one connector..that same wire of which I replaced the sensor is still giving a fault..except when I plug it to a front socket (it's a rear sensor) don't...
Okay I have a mea culpa..just as Tom predicted I ended up having a bum sensor..rear.Replaced it today with a new (no warranty..bummer) and it looks like my issues have been resolved..when in doubt...
