"POLICE are being ordered to issue at least 10 fines a shift as part of a statewide trial of a new electronic ticketing system.
The new system will allow officers to use mobile devices such as iPads to issue traffic fines for offences such as speeding, using a mobile phone while driving and having a defective vehicle."

Well thanks for admitting what we already know.

That explains why the police watch facebook pages reporting on large traffic command enforcement this morning.
Traffic command has to get their quota...

Hahaha

"A police memo, seen by The Courier-Mail, states that the trial will be “highly scrutinised by its effectiveness and use” and asks officers to “please ensure you focus all of your time issuing tickets during this period”."

Sweet, I can imagine QPS driving on the freeway, holding up their ipad to "fine a speeder" and smashing into another road user.

"Police have dropped speeding tolerances in the past two years, with some claiming the move was aimed to raise further revenue.
The road toll was the lowest in Queensland’s history last year, which the police have partly attributed to the change in the tolerances."

Bahahahaha, no, that's called modern cars are MUCH safer mr Officer.
Serious crashes are at the same level, it's just less people dying due to safety features/car designs.
And he failed to mention the levels of drink driving have also reduced but the levels of minor crashes has sky rocketed.

When will the propaganda ever end?

Also stated last night that they have a 16 Million dollar budget this year for new speed enforcement toys :(

'' When will the propaganda ever end ? '' Till someone in cms become minister of transport ...99.999% will never happen.

They start with the wrong base , they target speed without context and mostly dont give credit to driver's behavior...or so little.

I had my turn signal on, starting 22 @ sec but waited to change lane, to let the black car (passing lane) pass ...then this charger arrived late to the party but acted as King of the road.
