Hi there fellow Aussies,
Im looking to save som $$$ as I want to remain using the Stir Plus GPS and radar alerts only, So to use the aerial for the Al renders the Stir Plus alerts useless,
I have some pro's and con's and at present have found that when using the Al with Stir radar head its too sensitive and is useless however the Al will work more discreet with GPS a plugged in as it turns into parking sensor when you select user defined speed setting to prevent being shot by cop at set lights after he shot you 5mins ago and want see why it jammed for 4 secs! Great idea!

To do this I've tried using Rj45 with rj65 and came across a problem It plugs together & theirs no response sadly,
Truly Al should be making these adaptors in conjunction with Beltronics,

Im also keen to make a usb power on switch so i can flick a switch when i get pulled over wipeing the firmware to parking sensor and then even if they find power on switch it cant rewrite PDC & PDC LID as you 1 usb stick = 1 firmware type very clever!

I truly suggest hold off and wait untill the Al is complete in its design process, as I found out i need to buy HI Fi Control to hear descriptive alerts, What a shame that Al never gave us the option to buy Hi fi instead the plain controller that comes,

My opion is these add ons are a way for them to make extra cash and yet there very usefull, However look at the cost of each peace add it up and then see what you think ,

Overall I'm content using mine as its saved me 7times= loss licence! OH NO,

Please help suggest how to overcome my drama of using my gps ariel into both the al and the bel stir Plus, Makes sense for the Radar /GPS add on to come with a splitter etc

Thats my drama for the week!:eyebrows:

Hi mate,

If the cables are RJ45 based, you could try this manual network switch ?

http://radarandlaserforum.com/showthread.php/3335-Temp-Fix-forusing-bith-the-Bluetooth-Module-amp-Control-Module

You can just have a USB stick setup for parking mode only, and stick that in if you get pulled over (only takes about 10 secs to program). If you read the ALP manual, I thick you can set up a USB stick as a security key that you need to keep plugged in at all times. If you remove it, it's parking mode only

Sti-R Plus $1299.95 Retail (US) - NO LASER PROTECTION
ALP Dual $699.95 Retail (US) = NO RADAR PROTECTION
ALP DUAL $699.95 + ALP Radar Package $499.95 Retail (US) $1199.90 = BEST RADAR AND LASER PROTECTION

Getting the AL Priority & AL Radar Package is a substantial savings verse paying separately. As for Radar Alerts on the ALP Integration you can completely customizable the sensitivity using city modes (Yellow & Red) and using the ALP Setup website you can select the sensitivity for each choice (Yellow or Red) and select your individual sensitivity for X or K bands and customize them (Not Available on Full Sti-R Plus) to your liking which can greatly cut down on city false alerts. Also in the future when adding the GPS Antenna you will be able to have Savvy like features where you can ignore alerts under set speeds (Not Available on Full Sti-R Plus).

They are working on locating an inexpensive GPS antenna to use (Not an AL Branded GPS Antenna) and once nailed down you will be able to get one cheap from Ebay, Etc.

If you have an iPhone the ALP Connect app brings integration to another level and offers features not available from any other company. There is no product that can compete with the Laser Performance of the ALP and when matched with the Sti-R Plus receiver you can not get anything in the price range. Heck 9500CI PRO Retails for $1999.95 and the Laser Shifter Pro's cant match the performance of the ALP and that integration costs much more.

The App can run off a IPOD touch as well correct?? Will I be missing anything, Im guessing the only thing would be the GPS feature if I were to get that feature in the future!!

As long as its a current iPod Touch that supports Bluetooth 4.0. Mirage runs a iPod as visible in all his videos. Since the iPod does not have GPS your speed with not show in the app.

If i activate radar does How does this affect the scanning time once activated does this reduce rate of laser detection time & Laser interference,

How does the Al's radar scanning time compare to the Bel Stir+Gps AuNz model on detecting Kbands ka bands as there common in Australia,

Currently I see Al is on top the market with laser mine works 110% all the time, Thankyou AL,

My Laser blockers on beltronics was full nasty error codes,

As for the lockout feature on beltronics that is a bonus, I hope that we can do that with the Al in sometime?

I think I will continue to use the two as I already own the both units and actually found many ways to use features available,

Once again thankyou Al I owe it to you guys , The sensor heads are the smallest on the market! LOVE AL

geeeeeeeeeeeez u got mi confused which one do u want to deal with first

Well I guess it require some testing,

1st lets look at,

A)If i activate radar does How does this affect the scanning time once activated does this reduce rate of laser detection time & Laser interference?

B) Al's radar scanning time compared to the Bel Stir+Gps AuNz model on detection etc?

This is quite trivial however I find this interesting and rather good to know,

2) Will the Al ever incorporate a lockout or blockout of false alerts?

And I wander if there ever be a upgrade to connect them together so the Al reads the databases and marked & lock alerts locations on the BelStir+GPS now that would be smart however it would require both companies to work on project That would be so cool!

admittedly i was still learning all this so i may have missed this when i was comparing ALP vs LI.

the integration of a GPS phone or dedicated Gps for the ALP, Does the ALP (unit or app) currently have the ability to record/input/upload fixed camera locations?

Basically no, it could do, but can't at the moment, as GPS false lockouts are a patented feature by Escort. Not sure how much longer the patent is valid for ?

^^^ the patent covers both questions?
can't you put red light camera locations into the navigation system? (like tom tom)

Just run Waze and keep ALP Connect running in the background. If you get a laser or radar hit ALP Connect will alert you.

I'm not sure Waze is popular enough in Oz to depend on up-to-date notifications. How about it,are there enough "users" down-under for Waze to be effective on a daily basis ?
